Seventeen years ago Friends in Adoption was created as a way to support families in the South Puget Sound area who were just beginning the special journey of adoption. Over the years, FIA has evolved into a support group for waiting families as well as a place to provide educational meetings for parents before, during and after adoption. Social activities are organized by group members and include family activities as well as an occasional parent / adult night out...

Friends in Adoption is an independent, non-profit support and educational group. Monthly meetings, offered September through June, usually include a guest speaker, a question and answer period, and time for informal sharing. Topics include both adoption related issues and discussions of better parenting techniques. FIA families represent a broad spectrum of adoptive experiences and include family.
